Muthur still has not recovered from the mayhem it went through in August 2006. It is important we keep the memories fresh lest we fall into the same pit again, remind ourselves where we went wrong and not make the same mistakes again. Most of all to obtain justice for those affected.

Assalamu Alaikum Varahmathullahi Vabarakathuhu.
Dear Madam, (Sister In Islam)
Sponsorship for Photo Exhibition – “Memories of Mayhem – Muthur 2006”
We are submitting herewith proposal for holding an exhibition of sights and sounds of the humanitarian crisis that took place in Muthur in August 2006.
The purpose of the exhibition is to rekindle due interest on the issues faced by the victims even 8 months after they were resettled back in Muthur, after being displaced due to the crisis.
The Muslim Information Centre was engaged with this crisis from its inception and carried out immediate information support to strengthen relief operations. It followed this up with a Loss Assessment and Human Rights Violations recording for Muthur. Accordingly the MIC is privy to information on sufferings and loss inflicted upon the Muthur population.
We hope the exhibition would create the necessary awareness among the government, humanitarian organizations and other stakeholders of the need for full recovery of the victims.
We look forward to your kind sponsorship and funding assistance to this small project.
May Allah bless your organization and its members for the merciful deeds being carried out.
